泰源盆地

泰源盆地位於台灣東部海岸山脈的南段，全長約25公里，總面積約130平方公里，是台灣東部的盆地，也是海岸山脈面積最大的盆地，又稱作高原盆地。
因板塊運動造成斷層環繞造成岩層間岩性差異大，於風化侵蝕過程中，由膠結鬆散的沈積岩組成的大港口層低下，被由堅硬火成岩組成的都巒山層包圍，形成泰源盆地。
泰源盆地在史前時代就有人類棲息，目前已發現的遺址共有29處，約於清道光年間，卑南阿美族移入泰源盆地建立聚落，後因製糖和咖啡產業的招募，漢人人口加速增加。
泰源盆地受山谷環繞地形封閉，也因此隔絕外在污染，成為發展有機農業之良好場域，盛產柚子、白柚、柳丁、香丁及臍橙等柑橘類果樹，香氣香酸適宜，近年亦多有創新料理將在地特產佐入餐點中。
